New essay: The trade-offs of being a startup founder

I’ve recently shifted my focus away from coding and towards content creation, in order to help drive traffic to Findka. I’ve published two things so far:

  • The trade-offs of being a startup founder. This is IMO the best essay I’ve written in a long time. It’s part retrospective, part ideas on how to restructure society to promote more innovation. (You can leave comments on Twitter by the way).

  • Cover: Castle of Glass by Linkin Park. Since I made this to promote Findka, I guess you could say I’m a professional guitarist now. This was the the first time I made a recording using some recording equipment I bought a few months ago instead of just my phone. Makes a big difference (it’s nice for practicing too!).

Findka also has a sweet new landing page. (If you’ve already signed up for Findka, you may need to log out/use a private window to see it). Besides that, we’ve made a handful of changes over the past several weeks, like algorithm improvements and UI restructuring.

Hence the switch to content creation: my top priority right now is just promoting Findka, since I believe we’ve converged on a pretty good feature set for the MVP. We’re thinking about adding comments so you can have conversations on Findka instead of just reviewing stuff, but we’re being cautious since feature creep etc.

Have a nice week everyone.
